- Project: Manchester Public Safety Program Management
- Type: Program Management
- Location: Manchester, NJ
- Project Cost: $5M
CCMS was contracted by the Township to provide Consulting and Program Management Services to manage the design and implementation of a new state-of-the-art Public Safety Radio Communications System and upgrading/replacing their Public Safety Communications/Dispatch Center. Following an assessment of the existing systems and performing site inspections and interviews with key personnel, CCMS determined the minimal and optimal number of frequencies required to upgrade the Township’s Public Safety Communications system. A recommendation report was prepared and specifications and an RFP for a new radio system were prepared. A proposal was received from several vendors and the contract was awarded to Motorola for a new P25 Astro Digital Comparator with several Quantar UHF repeaters, a 3-position Centracom Gold Elite console, and 3 control stations.
The system provides radio to radio interoperability with the Ocean County trunk system, neighboring Dover Township, Burlington County, Lakewood and all other UHF Analog or P25 conventional systems. The Astro P25 Digital system provides the Township with the flexibility to establish various independent radio talk-groups. These talk-groups serve to provide day-to-day private channels, but because of a shared backbone allows cross group communications when necessary.
Following completion of the radio system, the Township contracted with CCMS to provide consulting and design services for the construction of a new Communications Tower and for upgrading the existing Security Systems (CCTV and Access Control) at the Municipal Complex
